British car manufacturer Aston Martin has unveiled the flagship version of its DBX model: the DBX S. This high-performance SUV delivers 727 PS and 900 Nm of torque, powered by the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine found in the DBX707. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 310 km/h.
Compared to the DBX707, the DBX S is 46 kg lighter overall, offering 331 PS per ton—making it the leader in its segment. This weight reduction is primarily thanks to the carbon fiber roof, which is 18 kg lighter than before, complemented by 23-inch magnesium wheels (19 kg lighter) and a carbon fiber rear wing that saves an additional 7 kg.
Equipped with turbochargers taken directly from the Valhalla (boosting up to 2.7 bar), the DBX S has a broader power band and features a 9-speed wet clutch transmission. The cockpit is adorned with extensive carbon fiber and Alcantara elements, while steering response has been improved by 4% over the DBX707. Electronically controlled dampers and a triple-chamber air suspension system play a major role in this advancement.
